Here at Only Worth 12 our mission is to promote justice for victims of violent crimes and homicides. It is our goal to prevent the early release of violent criminals and convicted murderers from prison before serving the sentence they were given.
In July 2012 while out on his nightly walk with his girlfriend Harison Long-Randall, "Hari", was struck by an under the influence driver at a high rate of speed. The driver, later identified as Paul William Walden, was traveling at speeds upwards of 65 miles per hour in a 35 mile an hour zone. Walden never hit the breaks and left Hari, his girlfriend and her four dogs for dead in the middle of the intersecton at Garfield and Engle in Carmichael, CA.
Fast forward to July 18, 2024. The Long-Randall family recieved an email from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stating that Walden is eligible for Parole in November of 2024. This means Walden has only served 12 years of his life term in prison for the taking of Hari's life.
Harison Long-Randall, known as "Hari" to those close to him, and his twin sister Emma were born in Sacramento, California on August 7, 1990 to Chris and Gail Randall. In addition to his twin sister Emma, Harison had an older sister Marybeth and brother Bryce.
Harison had many talents and hobbies. After graduating from Del Campo High School in 2009, Harison continued on to American River College where he was pursing his Associates Degree in Theater Arts with a special interest in special effects makeup. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his siblings, cousins, and friends who were more like family to him than friends. Harison also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and cooking new things up. Hari was always there to help a friend in need and had compassion for others.

Harison had a passion for Anime and Cosplay and was an avid and well loved member of SacAnime Conventions. He had been an active participant in the conventions from the beginning when they were held at Suncoast Video in Sunrise Mall. He had watched the convention grow from a small gathering to an event that people came from all over California to attend. Sadly, his life was tragically cut short right before the convention moved to the Sacramento Convention Center due to it's increasing size and popularity. He was so loved and respected by his "convention family" that a memorial service was held at the convention, and the September 2012 Sac Anime Convention was dedicated to his memory.

Sadly on July 16, 2012 while Harison was out on his nightly walk with his girlfriend and her four dogs, Paul William Walden of North Highlands, struck Harison and his girlfriend while they were crossing the street. Harison saw the car coming toward his girlfriend and grabbed her, shoving her out of the way. While she sustained significant injuries from the impact, Harison took the majority of the impact. He sustained multiple life threatening injuries, the least severe of which was the amputation of his right leg from the impact of the vehicle. The vehicle was traveling so fast when it struck them that his leg was shorn off and his leg and shoe were located approximately 65 feet from where the offender's vehicle had hit him. Thankfully, a concerned citizen and a witness to the collison, who was also Harison's high school guidance counselor, were able to render aid and place a tournequet on his missing leg until emergency personnel arrived. All four of his girlfriends dogs also did not survive the impact of the car.
Immediatly after the collision, Harison was alert and awake. Upon arrival to the emergency room, He was able to give a detailed account of the incident, had understood what had happend to him, and was more concerned about how worried his mom and family would be that he was injured, than he was about himself. Harison immediately underwent several life saving surgeries to try and repair all of the damage to his body over the course of the next 13 days. When he finally woke up from the medically induced coma a few days later, Harison remarked to his Dad Chris Randall that “I only did what you and Mom taught me to do – the right thing,” in response as to why he stepped in front of a speeding vehicle to shove his girlfriend to safety.

Harison's friends and family rallied around him, hopeful that he would make a recovery from such a horrific incident. The offender, who left the scene of the accident and never even hit the brakes upon hitting the couple, was located three days later at his mother's home in North Highlands. His place of residency was the toolshed in her backyard. Harison's friends, family and all those involved prepared to support him through what would be a long recovery and criminal proceeding.
Sadly on July 29, 2012 after a valiant fight for his life, Harison succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family, his friends and community devastated.
